History Green Acres Preschool was established in October of 1976 as an in-home child-care facility know as Green Acres Playschool, located in Middletown, DE. It began with six full-day preschool children and extended to include seven part-time preschoolers. The program was developed to meet the needs of the children at that time and grew by leaps and bounds. Equipment and material were added as we grew. The name was later changed to Green Acres Preschool and a developmentally appropriate program developed meeting all the requirements of the NAEYC.
In October of 1988 the program moved to the first section of the present location. As the program grew we secured more and more of the building until September 1998 when we took over the entire building.
We now serve a separate part-time preschool as well as a full-day preschool program and a before and after school program.
